Some are large organizations with broad course offerings to choose from and others are smaller boutique training firms that offer specialized classes. The following is a sampling of resources that I am aware of having a good reputation.
The Systems Administration and Network Security (SANS) Institute (www.SANS.org) provides a core set of educational courses designed to address both basic security fundamentals as well as in-depth technical aspects of information security. Subjects include intrusion detection, incident handling, firewalls and perimeter protection, forensics, hacker techniques, Windows and Unix operating system security. They also founded the GIAC, Global Information Assurance Certificate program (www.GIAC.org) and provide prep courses.
The International Information System Security Consortium (www.ISC2.org) provides online study guides and review courses for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification. Its courses focus on the ten domains of the CBK: Security Management Practices, Security Architecture and Models, Access Control Systems
